While Ashland’s city limits were snow free on Christmas, you didn’t have to look far to enjoy a white Christmas from clear-skies Ashland this year. Today’s photo was from my house early on Christmas. I wanted to go up on the roof for a better view, but there was a thick layer of frost/ice, and I didn’t want to die just yet. So this picture is from my backyard, zoomed in on the subject to avoid trees, houses, and power lines getting in the way.
Before heading down the hill to work last Monday morning I climbed out a window and up to the top of my roof to capture this image.
For the details, click on the image a time or two.
Last week we were treated to a spectacular morning view. I headed out to the lower level of our roof to get this photo. I wanted to head up to the upper level for a better panorama of the sunrise with the fog filling the valley below, but the roof was covered in ice. I couldn’t move without falling so I had to settle for this.

Winter term on the SOU campus begins today.
The building on the left is Computing Services. On the far right is the Hannon Library. Central Hall is also partially visible behind the trees.
