Where: Raider Stadium
When: 10/24/15, 1 p.m.
Who: College of Idaho vs. #2 Southern Oregon University Raiders

First 1,000 fans get a set of bam bam thunder sticks.

Raiders are currently tied with Montana Tech for first place in the Frontier Conference. Raiders are a 10-point favorite. Montana Tech are at Carroll and 7-point underdogs. #1 Lindsey Wilson are also 7-point underdogs today. A big Raider win today could mean they will be moving on up.

I’m off to Helena, Montana today for Saturday’s game. Although it sounds funny to say the opening game is a big one, this one between SOU and Carroll is important. The team that wins will likely be ranked #1 in the country until they lose.

Today’s photo is from last season’s game in Ashland. SOU won that one. In fact, SOU is a perfect 2-0 vs. Carroll when I am present. Hopefully, I can say 3-0 by the end of September 5 and 4-0 after October 17.

Going into Nationals (this weekend), NAIA leaders in each outdoor track and field event can be viewed here. As you can see, Markus Sanders has the third-longest throw in the country in the hammer this season. Last year he came in seventh in this event.

You would think a team called the “Fighting Saints” would be penalized more often for pass interference.

With an average of 7 yards per carry during his freshman season last year, what will Keegan do for an encore during his sophomore season this fall?

BTW, Southern Oregon is #1 in the nation in the Director’s Cup which looks at a school’s entire athletic program. Full standings can be seen here.

The Raiders won their 9th game of the season, tying their record with a regular season game to go (and hopefully four post-season games after that). Lealofi picked up a fumble and ran with it for a touchdown in today’s victory.
