Welcome to installment #36 in “The Whole Picture” in which I present the uncropped, higher resolution version of photos that SOURaiders.com have published. For prior editions click here. For higher resolution click on the photo before saving. As always, photos are best viewed on a big screen rather than a tiny phone screen.

Some of you may have found your way here through the link on souraiders.com. I have had several people email me asking questions about buying prints or about finding all of my photos for a certain sport.

The photos I post here are a small fraction of the photos I actually have. If you would like to print any of the photos on Ashland Daily Photo, you are welcome to do so at no charge. Be sure to click on the photo to get to the higher resolution size which will print with more quality. If you want to use them on the web (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), you are welcome to do so if you link back to traveljapanblog.com/ashland in the description of the photo. If you are using the photo in a newspaper or magazine, please credit “Al Case, Ashland Daily Photo”.

If you would like me to search through all of my photos and send you photos of the particular athlete you are looking for I charge a reasonable fee for the time it takes me to find all of those photos and to process them for you. I do not normally sell prints. I email you the high quality electronic files in .jpg format, and you can do the printing and framing yourself through a local or online service. My email is on this page or you can comment (leave a reply) to a recent blog entry to communicate.

Underrated Cascade Conference continues to surprise at Softball World Series

sou softball Taylor Martinez

@SOURaiders @SOU_Softball @CorbanAthletics @CorbanSoftball @CCCSports

SOU beat Warner (Florida) today to make it to final six teams in the NAIA Softball World Series. Not bad for a team unranked until late March and never ranked higher than #18.

Corban is also in the final six despite being unranked until April and never ranked higher than #14.

The Cascade Conference didn’t receive any #1 seeds or home field advantages, yet two teams made it to the World Series (final 10 teams). Both teams are still alive, and both have upset higher seeds (with Corban beating #3 Marian).

If Corban can’t pull off another upset tonight, they will be facing SOU tomorrow with the loser going home and the winner making the final four. Corban won the first four games with the Raiders this year, but Southern Oregon has won the last three.

The Raiders beat Indiana Wesleyan this morning, 4-3. Next up is the nearly unbeatable Stars of Oklahoma City, the defending national champions who have 61 wins and have not lost to an NAIA school this year.

SOU did the unprobable, winning four, elimination games in a row to move on to the NAIA Softball World Series (for the first time in school history). They will be flying home from Mississippi today only to have to turn around and fly back to Clermont, Florida before next weekend. The World Series begins on May 26. More details here.
