Two days ago we went to the National museum which told the history of Denmark. We only got to two sections in the museum: prehistory until the vikings and the children’s museum.
This is a big (like a couple feet across) Romanian cauldron that the vikings stole, and it was found in a bog in Denmark.
The prehistory exibit went forward in time telling about the stone, bronze, and iron ages. They had weapons, jewelery, graves, and the remains of the people in the bog graves from that time in the museum that you can see and read about.
This is a viking grave with anglo-saxon runes on it from over a thousand years ago. There was a whole room with gravestones with runes and signs telling what the runes say. Nearby there was a huge boat which had been sacrificed in a bog. Scientists have apparently found boats, people, musical instruments, dead bodies, and more in Denmark’s bogs.
This is me in the children’s museum with some medieval knight wear on. The children’s museum had all sorts of clothes and armor to try on. I am in a peasant kitchen in the picture, and Ellie is cooking up some meat for my dad. We ended the day by going to the not-so-spectacular toy exibit just as the museum was closing. It only had some doll houses and a few toys–not what I had pictured. But the day was overall really fun.
