Waseda University
The typical picture of the Waseda University campus looks something like the above. In the background is the Okuma Memorial Hall (which has the Okuma Auditorium inside). Actually, it’s just the bell tower you can see here. In the foreground is the statue of Shigenobu Okuma.
From this angle, with the help of the trees, it almost looks like the trees form, or frame, a heart around these icons of the campus. I suppose I could make t-shirts that say “I heart Waseda University” with this photo serving as the heart.
This next photo is not of Waseda University but is the view from the building on the Waseda University campus where I teach. The Shinjuku skyscrapers are a bit left of center. On a clear day I’m hoping I can see Mt. Fuji from here. I’ll let you know if that ever happens.
Finally, here is a not-so-typical angle on the Okuma statue. I took this one from Building 11, 14 stories above the statue itself.

Some cool photo in this post. You could make a cool print from the first photo.

What serendipitous framing on that first shot! And the sky in the second shot is incredible. Very nice!

I agree with the above. And the girl in the third shot really makes it. Seems like Okuma is kindly looking out for the students as they rush about.

I’m glad you noticed my careful cropping, Pamela. There were actually hundreds of people walking by in the original. I cut it down just to this one that Okuma was keeping his eye on.

Could you please post more pictures of Waseda University? Is that the picture of the main campus? If I were to take an online degree where would I study? Do I have to be fluent in Japanese/English to take a degree from Waseda? I’m sorry for asking too many questions. Thank you.

I will post more pics of Waseda University. These are from the main campus in Nishi-Waseda, Shinjuku-Ku, Tokyo. I don’t think there is an online degree from Waseda. You have to speak English (in SILS) or Japanese (in all other schools) to get a degree from Waseda.

Wow, especially that second picture is amazing. But I also like the other pictures a lot.
