The radio stations (KOME, KSJO, KRQR) played songs off of <em>Earthshaker<\/em>, <em>Black Tiger<\/em>, and <em>Mean Streak<\/em> as much as they played Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, or AC\/DC. I&#8217;m always a little surprised when I talk to people outside of the Bay Area about Y&#038;T who haven&#8217;t heard of Y&#038;T or only know <em>Contagious<\/em> and\/or <em>Summertime Girls<\/em> (two songs I don&#8217;t particularly care for and never have heard&#8211;except live). I checked out after <em>Mean Streak<\/em> when they went soft. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/ashland\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/18M_7646-RAW-yT.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/ashland\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/18M_7646-RAW-yT-800x664.jpg\" alt=\"born to rock oakland california y&amp;t\" width=\"800\" height=\"664\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-19709\" srcset=\"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/ashland\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/18M_7646-RAW-yT-800x664.jpg 800w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/ashland\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/18M_7646-RAW-yT-250x207.jpg 250w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/ashland\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/18M_7646-RAW-yT-768x637.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anyway, it&#8217;s odd to see them playing relatively small venues, outside the Bay Area, and the fan base knowing the songs I don&#8217;t know and not really getting <em>that<\/em> into the songs I love. That said, the only disappointing thing from my March 17, 2018 evening in Grants Pass was the omission of <em>Midnight in Tokyo<\/em> from the setlist.
