This past Friday night I had the chance to see Zepparella for about the tenth time. <\/p>\n

The show was my first chance to test out my new Nikon Z 50<\/a> in a concert setting. I had several reservations about going with a mirrorless camera. Those included a drop in quality for concert and sports shooting, short battery life, and the need for an adapter with non Z lenses. I didn’t buy the FTZ adapter, to not have to deal with the added weight, so that wasn’t a problem. After taking over 350 photos on a single charge the battery is still showing “full” so battery life doesn’t seem to be an issue. And even though I brought the wrong lens (I mistakenly grabbed the 50-250mm f\/6.3 instead of the 50mm f\/1.8), the pictures still came out OK. With a 1.8 lens I think concert photos will be really nice<\/a>. At f\/6.3 the ISO is quite a bit higher and the shutter speed is a bit slower than it will be when I use a faster lens in the future.<\/p>\n
