These hikes are a bit over an hour an half south of Ashland. We&#8217;ve done <a href=https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/ashland\/2016\/02\/tbt-8\/>at least<\/a> a half dozen of them by now. AllTrails clocks this one in a 4.1 miles round trip which is an underestimate. Our various apps came in at somewhere between 5 and 7 miles. Factor in the elevation changes, my bad back, and my old age, and I&#8217;m giving this one a solid 15 miles. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Seriously, though, the Upper South Fork Lake is gorgeous and well worth the effort.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We made another expedition into the Trinity Alps yesterday.
