{"id":2,"date":"2008-05-12T14:52:13","date_gmt":"2008-05-12T21:52:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2025-12-23T15:05:19","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T22:05:19","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/head.jpg\" alt=\"al's head\" align=\"right\" \/>The reason for traveljapanblog.com is my family and I lived in Japan from August of 2009 until August of 2010, and this site was originally set up for that year. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">While in that part of the world, I also took trips to China and Thailand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Before going to Japan, we\u00a0spent the summer of 2008 in <a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/category\/denmark\/\">Denmark<\/a> with side trips to <a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/tag\/sweden\/\">Sweden<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/tag\/norway\/\">Norway<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/category\/paris\/\">France<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I was back in Scandinavia in the summers of 2011, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2021. In 2012 I took trips to New York City, Boston, Newport Beach, California, and San Francisco.<P>In 2013 I spent a brief amount of time in Japan and also many weeks in <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/category\/korea\/>Korea<\/a>.
