This week&#8217;s travels will take us to Mexico. From 2003 until 2006 I had the chance to visit Mexico several times via my work. I taught at Universidad de Guanajuato for a week during my last visit. Along the way I got to see Mexico City, Metepec, Toluca, Leon, Porta Vallarta, but most of all Guanajuato.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s picture is of some ladies from Guanajuato selling dolls. I purchased one of these dolls for my daughter and wanted to show my daughter (since she wasn&#8217;t on the trip) who had made the doll. The location is the El Pipila Statue, a tourist spot with outstanding views of the city. The statue is dedicated to Juan Jose de los R\u00edos Mart\u00ednez, a Mexican hero in their war for independance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week on TravelJapanBlog.com we will focus on Travel rather than Japan.
