I&#8217;m not sure how much this lady had to pay for individual treatment from the priest. However, it&#8217;s <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/2014\/09\/samurai-revolution-2\/>well documented<\/a> that Katsu Kaishu (\u52dd\u6d77\u821f), in trying to give his famous peace sword to Itsukushima Shrine (\u53b3\u5cf6\u795e\u793e), was denied the privilege. Instead, he had to pay them to take it.
