The really weird part is that even if you are a foreigner with a tattoo, and obviously not part of the Japanese Yakuza, you can be denied entrance into places (like <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/tag\/onsen\/>onsen<\/a>) and denied other services if you have a visible tattoo.
