For starters, the <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/2015\/02\/senjokaku-%E5%8D%83%E7%95%B3%E9%96%A3-and-5-story-pagoda-%E4%BA%94%E9%87%8D%E5%A1%94\/>roof is massive<\/a> and Miyajima gets a lot of rain.<\/p>\n<p>This ingenious system turns a waterfall coming off the roof into a bedrock stream.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately (now, for purposes of this photo, but fortunately then for purposes of my dryness), the rain had slowed by the time I took this photograph so you can&#8217;t see the water cascading off the roof so much.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A regular rain gutter would not cut it for a place like Senjokaku.
