The interesting thing (to me) about these buildings is that even though they are on the site of a Buddhist temple (<a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/tag\/ninna-ji-%E4%BB%81%E5%92%8C%E5%AF%BA\/>Ninnaji<\/a>), they are Shinto in design. These three buildings hold nine gods and have been doing so since 1644.
