On Wednesday we went to Kawagoe (\u5ddd\u8d8a) in Saitama Ken (\u57fc\u7389\u770c) to be tourists in &#8220;Little Edo&#8221; (\u5c0f\u6c5f\u6238). There is very little in town that is actually from the Edo Period, but there are many old buildings from the late 19th Century and early 20th Century, some made to look like they are from the Edo Period. It made for a great day trip from Tokyo, especially on a weekday with no crowds.<\/p>\n<p>I lived in nearby <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/tag\/tokorozawa\/>Tokorozawa<\/a> many years ago, but this was my first visit to Kawagoe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/20125551trim.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/20125551trim-800x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"bikes mom&#039;s picking up kids at kindergarten kawagoe japan\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4368\" srcset=\"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/20125551trim-800x450.jpg 800w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/20125551trim-250x140.jpg 250w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/20125551trim.jpg 1440w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We arrived at one of the temples (or was it a shrine?) just as the neighboring kindergarten was letting out.
