Unfortunately, most of the days during the first week of April were cloudy, cold, wet, or windy&#8211;usually a combination of two or more of those items. April 8th was beautiful (we took a bike ride to <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/tag\/yanaka\/>Yanaka<\/a> on that day), and the 9th looked promising (although the sun never did come out). <\/p>\n<p>We headed to Inokashira Park, near Kichijoji, as, according to <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/2010\/03\/keio-mogusaen-walk-%E4%BA%AC%E7%8E%8B%E7%99%BE%E8%8D%89%E5%9C%92\/>our guidebook<\/a>, the cherry blossoms bloom later there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09105439trim.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09105439trim-800x611.jpg\" alt=\"mandarin duck kichijoji\" title=\"japanese duck inokashira japan\" width=\"800\" height=\"611\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5167\" srcset=\"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09105439trim-800x611.jpg 800w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09105439trim-250x191.jpg 250w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09105439trim.jpg 1178w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Besides cherry blossoms, there were ducks (a Mandarin Duck perhaps?), boats, shrines, forests, the Ghibli Museum, and lots of shopping down Kichijoji&#8217;s streets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09142311trim.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09142311trim-568x800.jpg\" alt=\"\u304a\u82b1\u898b\u306e\u30b1\u30fc\u30ad\" title=\"\u82b1\u898b\" width=\"568\" height=\"800\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09142311trim-568x800.jpg 568w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09142311trim-177x250.jpg 177w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/09142311trim.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 568px) 100vw, 568px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You could even get yourself some flower viewing cake (\u304a\u82b1\u898b\u306e\u30b1\u30fc\u30ad).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sakura reached its peak in most places in Tokyo on about the 5th of April.
