I couldn&#8217;t get far as a dance performance blocked an entire street through the Kofu shopping district.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/10164756trim.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/10164756trim-600x800.jpg\" alt=\"\u4fe1\u7384\u516c\u796d\u308a blue wind green forest red fire purple mountain\" title=\" Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan Dance \u98a8\u6797\u706b\u5c71\u7dcf\u8e0a\u308a\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/10164756trim-600x800.jpg 600w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/10164756trim-187x250.jpg 187w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/10164756trim.jpg 675w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Takeda Shingen&#8217;s motto was &#8220;Move as swift as wind, stay as silent as forest, attack as fierce as fire, and have an undefeatable defense like a mountain.&#8221; The abbreviated characters for this slogan are read merely as <I>furinkazan<\/I> (\u98a8\u6797\u706b\u5c71). At the festival six generals represented each of the four, for a total of 24 generals. The dancers also represented one of the four. Those in blue represented swift wind, green represented forest, red represented fire, and purple represented mountains.<\/p>\n<p>The top picture in today&#8217;s entry must have been some mountain dancers. Some forest dancers are below. The best view was from the end of the street, pictured above. The dancers appeared like colorful waves from this vantage point.
