I believe this is in reference to the &#8220;Medicine Buddha&#8221; of Mahayana Buddhism.<\/p>\n<p>This lovely building can be found in the complex of <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/tag\/gokokuji\/>Gokokuji<\/a> in Tokyo. Notice the paper stuck to the top of the posts on either side of the door.
