Yesterday he had a post entitled <a href=http:\/\/photofocus.com\/2011\/08\/20\/what-camera-should-i-buy-updated-version-august-2011\/ target=_new>What Camera Should I Buy?<\/a> which is pretty well written. However, I found his list of recommendations to be a bit strange. I would have posted my take as a comment on his blog, but since comments are closed over there I guess I will give them here.<\/p>\n<p>How can the <a href=http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B004M170YC\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=rpcman&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=217145&#038;creative=399373&#038;creativeASIN=B004M170YC target=_new>Canon EOS Rebel T3i<\/a> and the <a href=http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B0042X9LC4\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=rpcman&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=217145&#038;creative=399369&#038;creativeASIN=B0042X9LC4 target=_new>Nikon D7000<\/a> both be considered &#8220;budget DSLRs&#8221; when the latter costs twice as much as the Canon? Why is the <a href=http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B003ZYF3LO\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=rpcman&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=217145&#038;creative=399369&#038;creativeASIN=B003ZYF3LO target=_new>Nikon 3100<\/a> considered a &#8220;Super Budget DSLR&#8221; when it is about the same price as the Canon EOS Rebel T3i? Finally, why would anyone want the <a href=http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002JCSV6M\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=rpcman&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=217145&#038;creative=399369&#038;creativeASIN=B002JCSV6M target=_new>Nikon D300s<\/a> anymore (or for that matter a <a href=http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B002SQKVD0\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=rpcman&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=217145&#038;creative=399369&#038;creativeASIN=B002SQKVD0 target=_new>Nikon D3S<\/a> which costs five times more) when the <a href=http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/2011\/04\/nikon-d7000-dslr-camera-with-18-200mm-vr-ii-lens-update\/>D7000<\/a> is cheaper and better (than the D300s and about the same as the D3S except in weight and cost)?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently I&#8217;ve been following a number of camera blogs including Scott Bourne&#8217;s photofocus.
