I think the tour guide was describing the details at the top of each building. The building on the right, by the way, is a &#8220;Coffeeshop.&#8221; I&#8217;m not sure if you can really buy coffee there or not. The main item on the menus in Amsterdam&#8217;s coffee shops is marijuana&#8211;all perfectly legal.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, back to the tops of these buildings&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_2819amsterdam.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_2819amsterdam-800x497.jpg\" alt=\"amsterdam houses hooks called hijsbalk rope and pulley\" title=\"amsterdam\" width=\"800\" height=\"497\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-9220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_2819amsterdam-800x497.jpg 800w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_2819amsterdam-250x155.jpg 250w, https:\/\/traveljapanblog.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/DSC_2819amsterdam.jpg 1738w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the top of Amsterdam&#8217;s houses you will notice hooks suspended near the top called hijsbalk.
