Laying the 4th to rest
At long last I will finish this series with a bang. I took this one on the Fourth. However, if you want to see fireworks in Southern Oregon on the day before the Fourth you can at Lake of the Woods. Those are even better thanks to the reflection.

Fabulous series! Parades, celebrations, national holidays, fireworks, people enjoying all of it–what could be better? And that tricycle–wow!

Very beautiful shot. I had a hard time getting some good fireworks shots. I finally figured out that if I took the shot just before the burst then the lens was open when there was a burst and finally I would get a good shot. Nothing like yours though.

I put my lx3 on an eight-second exposure time and then just kept hitting the button every ten seconds. That way I can watch the show without worrying about my timing. You end up with a lot of pictures, but in a digital age you just go through and delete most of the ones that weren’t timed right.
I didn’t use a tripod (since I don’t have one), but with a tripod they could have been better.
