One week from today begins the 2018 NAIA Softball World Series. The Raiders will meet archnemesis Marian in the first game. (SOU beat Marian for the National Championship in football in 2014. Since then Southern Oregon is 0-3 with a football loss in 2015, a women’s basketball loss in 2016, and a softball loss in 2016.) It’s payback time!

I’m guessing the Raiders will be the only team there with at least four freshmen in their starting lineup. Those four freshmen have played amazing defense and hit a combined .351 this year.
