28 photo photomerge
Most of my photomerges are in the three-to-five photo range. Sometimes they are just two photos. However, I like to try new things. So at last Saturday’s SOU softball game I set my D600 to “Ch” for continuous high speed shooting. The sky was overcast so I went with 1/4000, f/8, ISO-2000. If it was sunnier I would have went with something like 1/4000, f/11, ISO-800. Next time if it is overcast I think I will try something more along the lines of 1/1000, f/10, ISO-1600.
Anyway, I then focused on the batter at 70mm from behind first base. When she connected I immediately began firing as I turned my camera toward right field. Twenty eight photos (and about four seconds) later I was done shooting. The photomerged result can be seen above. After the photomerge my file size was almost 3 GB for what had become a single photo! I resized it and did a bit of editing to get it down to about the 1 MB image I uploaded. Click on the photo for the more detailed 1 MB version and to have it fill your screen.
