City of Ashland (Guanajuato 1999)

This year is the 50th year of partnership between the cities of Ashland, Oregon and Guanajuato, Mexico. I happen to be in Mexico at the moment, teaching at the University of Guanajuato. A few days ago I took a bus from the center of Guanajuato to the bus station (so that I could change buses and head to San Miguel de Allende). I was surprised to see a giant mural of Ashland out the bus window on the left. So yesterday I headed back to that location for a closer look. Behind the mural was this plaque commemorating the 30 year anniversary. Photos of the mural coming here soon…
