With Montana Tech beating Montana Western and the Raiders winning or losing by a touchdown or less in each of their five Frontier Conference contests, one thing is for sure: parity is alive and well in the Frontier Conference. The only Frontier Conference team with a chance of not winning a conference game is Montana Northern, yet they beat their only non-Frontier Conference opponent (on the road no less and against a team that is .500 when not playing Frontier Conference opponents). Add to this mix the fact that Rocky beat, on the road, Dickinson State–a team the coaches believe is in the top 14 and 5-0 when not playing Frontier Conference teams–and you can see the Frontier Conference is a few cuts above the rest.
Massey sees this; the coaches do not. Therefore, Massey has the College of Idaho at #1 and seven Frontier Conference teams in the top 19. SOU comes in at #8 with the most difficult schedule in the NAIA. The Raiders are the only team that has come close to beating the College of Idaho. The coaches are unlikely to ever put the Raiders back in the top twenty this season. Instead they have Kansas Wesleyan at #2. Massey has Kansas Wesleyan at #22!
Southern Oregon travels to Eastern Oregon this weekend. Massey gives SOU a 67% chance of winning in making them 6-point favorites.

The coaches’ top 4 teams all won at home (and the Raiders did too at #5) which means SOU will be heading somewhere next weekend. The destination will likely be Lindsey Wilson or Morningside (due to distance). The coaches didn’t predict as well as Massey did. The coaches #7 Langston got creamed by Northwestern, just as Massey said they would, so once again the coaches are wrong and Massey is proven correct. Why is that SOU is going to have to travel next week when Massey has them in the top four? Write your congressperson or express your outrage to the NAIA somehow.

5-0 Southern Oregon slid one spot on Massey to #5 after yesterday’s narrow victory over Rocky. Massey had the Raiders as 11-point favorites. Rocky moved up to #12 on Massey, but the biased coaches will keep them out of the top 25.
Marian lost, for the second time this year, so the coaches will drop them (even though they lost to the #1 team), and the Raiders will move up in tomorrow’s coaches’ poll to #8.
SOU has a bye this coming weekend and will travel to Eastern Oregon on October 14. Massey has the Raiders as 4-point favorites in that one.
