The Southern Oregon University Softball Team has a doubleheader against Northwest Christian University today. Games are at 2 and 4 at the Iowa Street Field. These will be the first two conference games of the season for the Raiders.

The Southern Oregon University Women’s Basketball Team landed three selections on the all-conference team, more than any other school in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. They also had the only sophomores on the team, Carly Meister and Kristen Schoenherr (erroneously listed as a senior). The full team can be seen here.

By virtue of upsetting the #1 seeded team last Friday night, the Lady Raiders’ season lives on. No one is more happy about that upset than the #2 seeded Owls of Oregon Tech because it means they get to play in the championship game at home in Klamath Falls instead of on the road. In addition, they have beaten SOU twice this season already. However, that’s what Eastern was thinking when SOU came for a visit. Hopefully, the result will be the same in K Falls as it was in La Grande.

Clayton Burtis upending Simpson’s Austin Lobsinger
Ten Raiders, including Clayton Burtis, will head to nationals this week. The others are Jacob Stigall, Trevor Hancock, Jacob Abrams, Tucker Van Matre, number 1 ranked Brock Gutches, Taylor Johnson, Tyler Cowger, Johnathon Gay, and Garrett Urrutia. Matches will be held beginning on March 6 in Topeka, Kansas.

Tom Halley led the Raiders with three goals and one assist
The SOU Men’s Lacrosse team defeated the Slugs 14-4 in occasional rain and bits of sun and rainbows yesterday.

The SOU Women’s Basketball Team just beat the #1 seed to move on to the finals in the Cascade Conference Championships.
Allison Gida scored 20 points, had 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. Carly Meister was even more impressive with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.
