Raiders head into the Oregon Tech Tournament
The Southern Oregon University Men’s Basketball Team begins play in the Oregon Tech Tournament today by playing Westminster. Tomorrow they play William Jessup. Oddly, they don’t play Oregon Tech, the host, this go around. Instead, they will play them in Klamath Falls on Tuesday night.

The 4-0 Raiders will be playing in the Lewis-Clark State Tournament in Lewiston, Idaho this Friday and Saturday.

The Southern Oregon University Men’s Basketball Team this year is good. Really good. They may even win the national championship. They head on the road for their next five games before returning to Ashland after Thanksgiving. Today’s photo is from their victory this past Monday night (11/4/13 vs. Simpson).

Sophomore Carly Meister was named the Cascade Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her performances on Friday and Saturday (both victories for the Raiders). The SOU women won’t play again in Ashland until November 29 (against Oregon Tech), but if you want to watch some live basketball in Ashland, come down and watch the men play tonight at 7:30.

The Southern Oregon University Women’s Basketball Team began their season yesterday with a rare day game in Ashland. They defeated California Maritime 99-80. They play again tonight in an even rarer late night game. Tip off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. (after the Women’s Volleyball game).

SOU Raiders Men’s Basketball advance to the Sweet 16
Eric Thompson – Southern Oregon University Men’s Basketball
Eric Thompson scored 30 points today to lead the Raiders to a first round win in the NAIA tournament over Madonna. ET made five of his six three-point attempts in addition to pulling down nine rebounds. The Raiders will play again on Friday night.

The Southern Oregon Men’s Basketball Team will play Madonna University of Michigan tomorrow (3/6/13) in a first-round match at the 2013 NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Championships. The game will be televised in Ashland at RedZone beginning at 2 p.m. Unfortunately, I will be teaching a class at that time.
Raiders face #1 seed Warner Pacific College tonight for Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship

The Southern Oregon University Men’s Basketball Team hasn’t had as many wins as this year in 65 years. If they win tonight, they will have their most wins ever in a season. A victory won’t be easy, though, as they are playing on the road against a higher-ranked team who has won eight straight games. Jeff Bush won player of the week honors last week in helping the Raiders upset Eastern Oregon University on the road.
Regardless of tonight’s results, the Raiders will be in the NAIA Division II National Tournament which begins next week in Branson, Missouri.
