Yesterday the Raiders found out that Rocky Mountain College will be forced to forfeit their prior victory against SOU due to an ineligible player when RMC squeaked out their 35-30 win back in August. RMC is appealing the verdict, but barring a change this means that SOU moves to 5-1 in the conference with a head-to-head matchup against the other 5-1 team (#7 ranked Carroll of Helena, Montana) in less than two weeks.
The Southern Oregon University football team is back in the polls for the first time since narrowly losing each of their first three games of the season. They beat #18 Montana Northern with ease this past Saturday for their fourth win in a row to earn a #22 ranking in this week’s poll. They have four more games to crack the top 16 in order to be assured a post-season game (or more) in the NAIA Championship Series.
Austin Dodge was named NAIA (and Frontier Conference) Player of the Week (again).

Southern Oregon University won in three straight sets by the way.
The SOU Raiders will be hosting the #18 team in the country today. A victory for the Raiders will put them in the Top 25. The weather will be perfect. Come on out to Raider Stadium, and bring your kids. If they are 12 and under, they will get in for free.
The undefeated-in-CCC-play Raiders face the other unbeaten and #2 ranked (in all of the NAIA) team, Concordia, today. Game time is 3 p.m.

Chuck Mills (1980-1988) and Craig Howard (2011-current)
Southern Oregon University Head Football Coaches
Last Saturday morning was the 2013 SOU Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Coach Mills is already in the Raider Hall of Fame as the coach of the 1983 Football Team. Coach Howard has the best winning percentage of any SOU football coach, but this is only his third season at the helm.
Today’s photo is from last week’s 0-0 double overtime tie, a contest the Raiders dominated but could never find the back of the net.
