#5 Raiders draw Mount Mercey in first round

The final rankings and national tournament brackets were announced today. The SOU men’s basketball team is ranked #17 in the country and earned a #5 seed in the tournament. They will face Mount Mercey University (Iowa) in the first round. Massey Ratings (a computerized ranking and predicting system) gives the Raiders a 40% chance of victory over Mount Mercey. Massey predicts a final score of 85-82. The game will take place in Point Lookout, Missouri on March 9.
A victory in the first round for Southern Oregon will likely mean a meeting with the #1 team in the country in the Sweet Sixteen, St. Francis.
