Showa Kinen Park (昭和記念公園)
On a frightfully hot (37 degrees Centigrade) day near the end of July we made our way to Showa Kinen Koen near the Tachikawa Station. Outside of the swimming/wave pool/water slide area (Rainbow Pool or レインボープール) there were few people willing to brave the heat. Today’s pic is of the view immediately after entering.

Phew, look at that heat haze showing even on camera! Summer never seems to be a very kind month – makes you wonder why it’s outdoor festival season. Beautiful shot, and I’ll bet that water looked pretty tempting.

What an inviting shower on such a HOT day! I bet the humidity was way up there too! Does Japan have any disappointing scenes…I never saw any!
