Good times happening at Club 66 tomorrow night…
I’m always at least a day behind in watching The Daily Show, but thanks to my DVR, I don’t have to watch it with commercials. Last night’s show (1/13/14) featured Roger Ross Williams who was at last year’s Ashland Independent Film Festival.
I volunteered to take photos of his Q&A session with the Ashland Armory audience so it was kind of fun to see a familiar face on national TV.
BTW, the 2014 Ashland Independent Film Festival is coming up in early April.
With last weekend’s loss to Northwest, the Southern Oregon University Men’s Basketball Team dropped from #6 to #7 in the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. Hopefully the downward trend will be reversed beginning with Saturday night’s game against OIT. The game is in Ashland and will sell out so buy your tickets early.
Gida, a senior from Ashland, had a career-high 15 rebounds on Friday against Evergreen and a career-high with 26 points on Saturday against Northwest. She helped SOU to a road sweep without point guard Ashley Claussen and has now recorded a double-double in three of her last four games played.
All but 1 of the 10 men’s basketball teams in the Cascade Conference have non-losing records at home. The Raiders almost lost to that team on Friday night. However, they pulled out a victory against Evergreen in that road contest.
The results weren’t as favorable against Northwest as they squeaked past the Raiders on Saturday night to go 8-0 at home.
The Raiders will be at home for their next three games so hopefully they can put together a winning streak.
