The undefeated-in-CCC-play Raiders face the other unbeaten and #2 ranked (in all of the NAIA) team, Concordia, today. Game time is 3 p.m.

But the hare’s last leap was just too late, for the tortoise had beaten him to the winning post. Poor hare! Tired and in disgrace, he slumped down beside the tortoise who was silently smiling at him.
It’s not too late to sign up for this year’s Monster Dash to benefit the Ashland School’s Foundation. Race day this year is October 26.
As previously mentioned, yesterday was the annual Southern Oregon Pride Parade.
More pics will be coming here soon.
I have become a bit addicted to Sammich since they opened their doors earlier this year. I think I have tried everything on the menu at least once now, and the Chicago Italian Beef may be my favorite (although nothing has disappointed). I love the potato salad too.
If you haven’t experienced Sammich yet, you can find it near the corner of Bridge Street and Siskyou Boulevard, across from SOU, behind Mihama.

Chuck Mills (1980-1988) and Craig Howard (2011-current)
Southern Oregon University Head Football Coaches
Last Saturday morning was the 2013 SOU Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Coach Mills is already in the Raider Hall of Fame as the coach of the 1983 Football Team. Coach Howard has the best winning percentage of any SOU football coach, but this is only his third season at the helm.
Funeral doom metal is almost the last thing I want to be listening to when I’m going 70 MPH down the highway. The same goes for trips to the gym or while riding my bike. I need something with more gallop much of the time.
However, live funeral doom metal is wonderful. I never want it to end, especially when it is done really well like it was by Sutratma last night at Club 66.
I posted a smaller version of this on Facebook yesterday. Speaking of Facebook, the vast majority of those who “like” Ashland Daily Photo on Facebook never see the daily photo. I’m not sure exactly why, but there is a fix. To be sure you see the daily photo, mouse over the “Liked” button after you like the page and click on “Show in News Feed”. Then click on “Settings” and select “All Updates”.
As always, for an even larger version, click on the photo.
Tonight the Grizzlies will play their second-to-last regular season home game in Ashland. With an undefeated record, they may have already played their toughest opponent (before the Oregon State Playoffs next month) in the game where I took today’s photo. Today’s pic comes from their win over Springfield a couple weeks ago.
