If my son wasn’t coming home for Thanksgiving I’d be boarding a plane for Montana in a few days. If you don’t have plans this weekend, or if you can cancel them because they don’t sound as fun as this opportunity, check out this deal. Hopefully the Raiders win, and I’ll be on a plane the next weekend to Iowa or Illinois.

SOU basketball – Eric Thompson (edited)
@SOURaiders
The SOU men’s basketball team continues their road games tonight against Simpson. This will be their fifth (of ten) consecutive road games. Today’s photo comes from their game against Simpson in Ashland earlier this month.
I sometimes have photographers (who have never been in the Riehm Arena) tell me how lucky I am to have such good lighting in a gym. HA! They have no idea how happy I will be to see the new gym lighting when McNeal Pavilion is torn down and the new facility is built. I have shot in many gyms and McNeal has the most difficult lighting. It is a yellow flicker. Most high schools have much better lighting.
Anyway, to give you an idea of how much I have to edit to come up with the photo you see above, check out how the original image started below.

SOU football team beats MNU on 11/22/14 in the rain
@SOURaiders @SOU_Football
The 2014 NAIA Football Championship Series Quarterfinal Pairings came out this morning and have SOU going to play Carroll for the third time this season. You’d think that with 88 football teams in the NAIA they could come up with a way that you didn’t have to play a team three times (unless the third time was a championship game which this isn’t). In any event, SOU knows they can beat Carroll, Carroll knows SOU is probably the only team that can beat them, and for all intents and purposes the 11/29 game is the championship game. I’m sure Carroll would rather play any of the other remaining teams.
As it turned out (according to the 2014 NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll), #8 is at #1, #7 is at #2, etc. That means, of course, that had SOU gotten past EOU last week SOU would likely be hosting another game against the #5 or #6 team instead of going on the road to play the #1 team. Oh well. SOU didn’t get screwed as much as EOU, the third best team in the country according to better rankings, who was not even given the chance to play in the final 16.

Atriarch @ Club 66 (November 20, 2014)
@EarsplitPR
The wait was worth it. However, I hope it won’t be another three years before Atriarch plays in Southern Oregon again.
