I went to my first high school football game in 27 years this past Friday night. The lighting was horrific–not just for photography, but it was not easy to see the field, period.
The game between Ashland High School and Marshfield High School was a blowout with Ashland winning 61-14. Pictured above is one of the many touchdowns on the night for the Grizzlies.

The temperature in Ashland has dropped over the past week or two. It no longer feels like summer, and that means no more Green Show before the OSF plays at night. This past weekend featured the last Green Show acts of the 2012 season. Saturday night’s performers were a touring troupe known as the Mud Bay Jugglers. These three pictured here were backed by a four-piece band, and they put on a great show.

Some more photos today from Saturday’s match against Grants Pass…

A few more inches of height and he could have headed this one into the goal.

With Halloween less than three weeks away, perhaps these photos will provide you with some costume or makeup ideas should you want to dress up as a zombie. I took these pics at Ashland’s Zombie Walk last week.

Today’s photo is a better look at the Raider Hawk in the new gym floor of the Bob Riehm Arena that I mentioned yesterday.

This past Friday night I went to my first volleyball game in Southern Oregon University’s Bob Riehm Arena since the floor was redone. The Raider mascot logo is now on the middle of the floor, and it looks great. Liz Madden wasn’t anywhere near the floor when she made this kill in route to a 3-2, comeback victory for the Lady Raiders over Concordia University.

John Lennon was born on this day in 1940. Today’s photo is of the John Lennon Memorial, located in “Strawberry Fields” in Central Park in New York City. I took this pic this past summer shortly before visiting The Dakota, where Lennon was shot and killed in 1980. The Dakota is right next to this part of Central Park.
