First snow of the season on Mt. Ashland
After just three months without snow on Mt. Ashland this year, we have snow on the top once again. Last week’s rain meant snow on Mt. Ashland. However, if we don’t get any more snow in the next few weeks I suppose it could melt before the more typical November snow.
Today’s photo was taken near North Mountain Park. We were staying at a friend’s house while our floors were being redone.
Ashland experienced some rain this past week for just the first or second time in months. Some leaves have begun to turn colors for fall, but most are still at least a week or two away from major fall foliage.

A funky looking vehicle came rambling down East Main Street during the Southern Oregon Pride Parade. Today’s top photo is from the front of what was labeled the “Moonshine Luv Shack” (a machine that has apparently made numerous appearances at Burning Man as well).

Much of the SOPride Parade was made up of religious groups. I think every non-right-wing church in town had an entry. Although those congregations helped make the parade last for more than just a few minutes, they really weren’t the interesting portions of the parade. Hence, my photos will almost exclusively be of the other participants.

Southern Oregon Pride Parade
Today was the (Second Annual?) SOPride Parade through downtown Ashland. I only found out about it as I happened to be downtown earlier in the day and the streets were being blocked off. Apparently this is going to be another Ashland parade (on the first Saturday of October) to go along with the others (4th of July, Halloween, and Festival of Light). Ashland has the perfect layout to be a parade town.

Like the San Francisco Gay Parade (now called the San Francisco Pride Parade), Dykes on Bikes led the parade down Main Street.
