Brandi Carlile @ Britt

Britt announced their 2013 lineup last night. Included in the mix is Brandi Carlile (just after I return from my summer in Asia). The date is August 21, 2013. I will almost certainly be there. Tickets go on sale for members next week and for the general public in May.

Other shows I may go to Britt for this summer include Chris Isaak, Tegan & Sara, The Doobie Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Jake Shimabukuro.

Last time I photographed Brandi at Britt in 2011 I captured an image of her proclaiming that it was her fourth time playing the Britt Festivals. Today’s photo is of her last week, showing that this go around in 2012 was her fifth time performing at Britt.

Every once in a blue moon a night can be very special AND feature an actual blue moon. No, the color of the moon wasn’t blue (although I took this photo when blue light from the stage was bathing the audience). But on August 31, 2012, when Brandi Carlile played at Britt Festivals in Jacksonville, we had our second full moon of the month which is what a blue moon is. The next calendar blue moon won’t be until July of 2015. Hopefully Brandi will be back at Britt on that evening too.

Brandi Carlile is coming back to Britt Festivals next Friday night (August 31, 2012) with The Barr Brothers opening up for her. Tickets are still available here.

Today’s photo is from her performance last year when she opened for Ray LaMontagne.

I’ll have some fresh photos of her on this blog from next Friday’s show in a couple weeks. She’ll be playing after the sun goes down this time so things will look different.
