With Oregon Tech’s upset win yesterday over #2 seed Jamestown in the NAIA national tournament, the Cascade Conference suddenly doesn’t look so weak. Massey has altered SOU’s strength of schedule (SoS) to be in the top 46. Previously the Raiders SoS had been near 60 and as high as 75. With the new degree of difficulty factored in, Massey now has Southern Oregon at #2 in the country and gives them a 95% of victory (up from 91%) in today’s game.

The final rankings and national tournament brackets were announced today. SOU is ranked #3 in the country and earned a #1 seed in the tournament. They will face Clarke University (Iowa) in the first round. Massey Ratings (a computerized ranking and predicting system) gives the Raiders a 91% chance of victory over Clarke. Massey predicts a final score of 83-68. The game will take place in Sioux City, Iowa on March 10.
The Raiders are in probably the toughest quadrant as (according to Massey) Briar Cliff is the best #4 seed and St. Francis is the best #2 seed.

Welcome to installment #23 in “The Whole Picture” in which I present the uncropped, higher resolution versions of photos that SOURaiders.com has published. For prior editions click here. For higher resolution click on the photo before saving. As always, these are best viewed on a big screen rather than a cell phone.
Some of you may have found your way here through the link on souraiders.com. I have had several people email me asking questions about buying prints or about finding all of my photos for a certain sport.
The photos I post here are a small fraction of the photos I actually have. If you would like to print any of the photos on this blog, you are welcome to do so at no charge. Be sure to click on the photo to get to the higher resolution size which will print with more quality. If you want to use them on the web (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), you are welcome to do so if you link back to traveljapanblog.com/ashland in the description of the photo. If you are using the photo in a newspaper or magazine, please credit “Al Case, Ashland Daily Photo”.
If you would like me to search through all of my photos and send you photos of the particular athlete you are looking for I charge a reasonable fee for the time it takes me to find all of those photos and to process them for you. I do not normally sell prints. I email you the high quality electronic files in .jpg format, and you can do the printing and framing yourself through a local or online service. My email is on this page or you can comment (leave a reply) to a blog entry to communicate.

I began hinting about it after the blowout victory over previously unbeaten Warner Pacific. The team is probably forbidden from talking or thinking about it at this point in the season. However, Massey not only picks football; they also pick women’s basketball (and a bunch of other things).
Massey says the SOU women’s basketball team isn’t going to lose another game this regular season.
The coaches have SOU at #12. Massey has them at #7.
I mentioned a couple months ago about how my photos on souraiders.com sometimes get cropped (leaving out balls, hands, feet, etc. that were in the original). Today’s pics are some more that fit that category.
