The above is what is actually happening. Below is what should be happening if the best teams were to be going to the postseason.
The Frontier Conference got three teams in the postseason, but is that enough? Montana Tech had the toughest schedule in the NAIA, and the NAIA didn’t even give them a first-round bye. College of Idaho won’t get a home game even though Massey has them at #3.
Dordt got in, with a home game no less, despite losing–at home–to the very mediocre Midland NE. Massey “thinks” (Massey is a computer so there isn’t a bias like the selection committee) that Carroll College, SOU, and Rocky Mountain were all more deserving than Dordt, who finished third in their conference with a strength of schedule not in the top 35.
Ottawa (Kansas) got in with a 6-5 record and one of the easiest schedules in the entire NAIA! Several of the “at-large” selections are not in Massey’s top 13 like Marian, St. Thomas, and Dordt.
