Yesterday’s soccer match with Evergreen went well in Medford, putting SOU at the top of the CCC standings with a 1-0 record. Tomorrow’s game (9/27/14 @ 10 a.m.) against Northwest will be in Ashland in Raider Stadium on the brand new field. This will be the first game on the new Fuller Field. The first 200 people get a t-shirt.
Today’s photo was the first non-test shot that I took with my new Nikon D750.

Crater comes to Ashland today
AHS soccer – Lilli Patton header
Crater High School is coming down I-5 to Ashland today (9/23/14). They dropped down to 5A this year, same as Ashland High School. I’m not sure why as they have about 50% more students, but, in any event, they have become a formidable opponent in most sports for the Grizzlies.
At 4 p.m. at North Mountain Park they will take on the girls soccer team. Ashland has lost only one game this season.
Then, at 7 p.m., Crater’s 9-1 volleyball team will take on Ashland’s 7-1 team in the AHS gym.
School’s in session

The Southern Oregon University Women’s Soccer Team plays in Medford today (8/31/14) at 2 p.m. This will be their final game at U.S. Cellular Field. The next home game will be on the new field at Raider Stadium on 9/25/14.
Update: The 9/25 game will be in Medford. The field in Ashland isn’t ready yet.

Once upon a time, less than a year ago, my photos that showed up on souraiders.com were frequently too small to see and/or cropped in such a way that balls and heads were cut off. The new Raiders site is much improved, with bigger photos, and less cropping. The photo of today’s soccer game was cropped a bit. This is mostly my fault for not cropping it to fit on the SOU site correctly, but I wanted to give you the full photo in case you are interested.

SOU Fall Athletics begin this week

School doesn’t begin for another six weeks, but sports begin much earlier than classes. SOU’s new soccer field is not yet ready so this weekend’s tournament (featuring Marymount California University, Concordia, and The Master’s College in addition to SOU) will be held at the U.S. Cellular soccer fields in Medford.
SOU plays at 2:30 on Saturday (8/23/14) and 11 on Monday (8/25/14). Tickets are available here.
