The most popular post on this blog for the past year has been my entry featuring graduation cap ideas from last year’s commencement (with over 1,500 single page hits and that doesn’t count views from the main page or any tag-type pages). So on Monday, while I’m laying over in LAX between home and Japan, I will add an entry featuring many grad cap decorations from this year’s graduation ceremony. Stay tuned…

Relay For Life in Ashland, Oregon 2013 – Luminaria Bags line the track at Raider Stadium on the SOU campus
Saturday (6/1/13) at 1 p.m. at Raider Stadium will feature the second annual Prom Dress Rugby match. It’s only $5 (and I think that includes a BBQ lunch) so head on down.
Like all of the other flowering plants and trees this year, the dogwoods in front of Central Hall blossomed early. Today’s photo is from late April, and the dogwoods don’t normally look like this until May 10 or so. They are long gone now.
On my way home from Eugene this past Saturday I thought a lot about my mom who died last month of cancer. I had never been to a Relay For Life event before, but I made a stop in at Raider Stadium in Ashland to check Relay For Life out before going completely home. The atmosphere was very moving. I made two trips around the track with tears coming down my cheeks. It was too dark for anyone to see them. I then took today’s photo before driving the final few blocks home.
