The Raiders play their first home game of the season tonight at 7. Problem is…

…so do the Grizzlies and my daughter is on that team. 6:45 is the supposed start time (but they frequently start late if JV plays longer than expected).
The good news is I can make Friday night’s SOU game which also starts at 7.
SOU Raiders Volleyball – Abbie Hanser and Shelby Young

Hanser and Young led the Raiders today to a victory over UC Merced in three straight sets. They have two more games on Saturday before their first home games in Ashland next week.
SOU Volleyball – Emma Gasman

Emma Gasman had 10 blocks in the Raiders’ victory against Westmont and 12 more in SOU’s win against Vanguard (ranked 18th in the nation). Her offense wasn’t bad either as she had 32 kills over the weekend.
The Raiders Volleyball Team will have their first home match next week (9/4/14).

The Southern Oregon University Women’s Volleyball team will start their season in a couple of California tournaments. The Raiders first home game will be on 9/4/14.
Ashland High School Girl’s Varsity Volleyball
High school finished things up yesterday which means “optional” volleyball practices begin in full force today for the high school teams for fall (when school starts again).

I’m not sure exactly why, but fairly consistently for the past few months my prior blog entry featuring Georgia has been receiving more hits than any other page on the blog. So here is another photo of her playing volleyball. She also plays basketball for Ashland High School.
This past Sunday saw another tournament championship for the Siskiyou Volleyball Club 16U (Alan) Team. That’s the third or fourth championship for the team for the short club season. Alan’s team went 12-1 in individual games on the day in the 23-team tournament, and they had to make it past an 18U team in the final match to secure the victory.
Ashland High School Girl’s Varsity Volleyball player Hope Baldrica
This weekend the U16 Siskiyou Volleyball Club Team (featuring much of next year’s Ashland High School Varsity Team) will be headed north up I-5 to a three-day tournament in Eugene (Springfield actually, CEVA Presidents’ Day Tournament). I’ll be joining them for the first two days.
