AHS volleyball
Details of last night’s victory can be found here.
Their next game in Ashland is Tuesday (9/16/14) @ 6:45 p.m. vs. Henley, although that game won’t be nearly as important as the game a week later at the same time and day of the week in the Ashland High School gym against Crater. Crater High School is in the same league this year, and they are also undefeated.
SOU volleyball – Brookelynn Cole #10, Emma Gasman #11, and Motade Atanda #3
@SOURaiders @RaiderVB
Hot starts to the 2014 campaign by Cole, Gasman, and Atanda have propelled the Raiders to an 8-2 record and into the national rankings for the first time this year.
Eastern Oregon is ahead of them in the rankings at #14, and they will be playing in Ashland on 9/26. Tomorrow night (9/10), Oregon Tech will be playing in Ashland. Come on out for a 7 p.m. start.
SOU volleyball – Motade Atanda
@SOURaiders @RaiderVB
Motade executed 60% of her attacks on Thursday and Friday nights. (A hitting percentage over 25% is considered excellent, and an average hitting percentage is below 20%.)
SOU Volleyball will play at home against OIT this Wednesday night.
2014 SOU Fall Sports Schedule

The pocket, hard copy edition of the 2014 Raiders Fall Sports Schedule is now available around town. I picked up my copy at Sammich.
If the photos look familiar it’s because you’ve seen them before here, here, and here:
SOU Volleyball – Nikki Keller
SOU volleyball team
@SOURaiders @SOUAshland @RaiderVB
The Raiders play their first home game of the season tonight at 7. Problem is…
Ellie with the kill – Ashland High School Volleyball
…so do the Grizzlies and my daughter is on that team. 6:45 is the supposed start time (but they frequently start late if JV plays longer than expected).
The good news is I can make Friday night’s SOU game which also starts at 7.
SOU Raiders Volleyball – Abbie Hanser and Shelby Young
@SOURaiders @SOUAshland @RaiderVB
Hanser and Young led the Raiders today to a victory over UC Merced in three straight sets. They have two more games on Saturday before their first home games in Ashland next week.
SOU Volleyball – Emma Gasman
@emmagassy @SOURaiders @SOUAshland @RaiderVB
Emma Gasman had 10 blocks in the Raiders’ victory against Westmont and 12 more in SOU’s win against Vanguard (ranked 18th in the nation). Her offense wasn’t bad either as she had 32 kills over the weekend.
The Raiders Volleyball Team will have their first home match next week (9/4/14).
@SOURaiders @SOUAshland @RaiderVB #RaiderLove
The Southern Oregon University Women’s Volleyball team will start their season in a couple of California tournaments. The Raiders first home game will be on 9/4/14.
Ashland High School Girl’s Varsity Volleyball
High school finished things up yesterday which means “optional” volleyball practices begin in full force today for the high school teams for fall (when school starts again).
