Sakura season
Why are these two photographers pointing their camera at me and taking my picture? Have they never seen a gaijin before?
Actually they probably couldn’t even see me. They are taking pictures of Himeji Castle. I was in the top room taking pictures from quite a distance with maximum zoom. I didn’t even realize I had captured a couple of photographers looking my way until I offloaded the pictures onto my computer and cropped out much of the image.

hi there. i love all the pictures in your blog. they are sharp and tell more than a thousand words. i am planning to travel to japan in april next year. Can i ask some question? is it ok if i go to kyoto first then only go to tokyo? i am a bit afraid i might not getting to see sakura at full blooms at both place. i dont really know which place the sakura reach full blossom first. i hope u get what i mean ^-^

Hi zat,
Tokyo usually blooms a bit earlier than Kyoto so it is unlikely that you will see the peak in both places if you go to Kyoto first. In fact, each year the blooms are tending to happen a day or two earlier so they could be gone after the first week of April.
