Statue of Absalon – Copenhagen, Denmark
The tower in the distance to the right is from the Nikolaj Church, now an art museum and restaurant. The spire on the tower was donated by the founder of Carlsberg Brewery, Carl Jacobsen, in 1909. The “new” spire is identical to the original one, which was destroyed by fire, from the Renaissance period.

My random, desktop image of the day was this one–a photo I took from the clock tower at the top of Copenhagen City Hall. The prominent building nearby is the Scandic Palace Hotel.
I love the neon lights surrounding Copenhagen’s lakes. In June and July you have to wait until after midnight for things to get this dark.
Københavns Rådhus' clock tower
Today’s photo of the Copenhagen City Hall clock tower was taken from an open window within the city hall building itself. On a different day I went up in the clock tower on a tour which was pretty cool.
