Going into Nationals (this weekend), NAIA leaders in each outdoor track and field event can be viewed here. As you can see, Markus Sanders has the third-longest throw in the country in the hammer this season. Last year he came in seventh in this event.

The outdoor, spring dual may not have all of the intensity of an in-season dual against a real opponent, but from a photographic standpoint, I like it. I can shoot with a fast shutter speed and low ISO unlike the indoor duals. Friday’s wrestling contest was almost moved indoors with the rain, but a sunny afternoon allowed things to go on as planned.

Next week about 16 Raiders will be heading to Alabama to compete in the national championship meet. Included in that number will be Danny Parks who won the discus last weekend with the third longest throw in the nation (almost 180 feet). He will also be competing in the hammer throw (pictured above) where he placed third in the conference.

The rumors from the past few months have been confirmed. The former SOU quarterback and current coach of the Ducks will be speaking at Raider Stadium on the morning of June 13.
While the models were changing in Lithia Park last week I had a few moments to capture some of the park’s birds.

Not new to winning awards, Amelia, unsurprisingly, took home another CCC athlete of the week honor today. I think she won this award each time she competed this track season.
