As I predicted on Saturday, the Raiders are back to #5 in the national rankings. If they can crack the top four by the end of the regular season they can have home games for the first round and quarterfinals of the NAIA playoffs. #3 Grand View may lose next week in a tough road match up. #4 Faulkner has a difficult road game the following week too. Things look good if the Raiders continue to win.
This Saturday’s game is in Ashland against #21 Rocky Mountain.

Live at the Armory will be hosting Patty Griffin (and John Fullbright) this Wednesday. Save $5 by purchasing your tickets before Wednesday. Photos from the show will be posted here later this week.
When I previously used a D7000 and Tokina 11-16mm lens I enjoyed experimenting with sun stars. I haven’t found a lens that did them very good on full frame, though, until I tried yesterday with my Nikkor 20mm f/1.8g. Bingo!

I couldn’t make this year’s Monster Dash (thanks to shoulder surgery yesterday), but today’s entry features some previously unseen photos from last year’s event.

The popular #AIFF14 Secret Screening “Keep on Keepin’ on” returns to Ashland and the Varsity Theatre on Friday, November 7.

Ashland High School volleyball is also happening tonight at 6 p.m.
The Grizzlies headed up I-5 to Central Point to take on the first place Crater Comets last night. The place was packed, hot, and loud. Ashland won the first set, but ultimately didn’t come out victorious. Crater had won all 18 of their previous home sets this year so Ashland did do something unprecedented even if they didn’t end up with a W.
Ashland did not fall in the rankings. Assuming they remain at #7 after Friday’s match and Saturday’s tournament, they will have a home play-in game on Tuesday, October 28 against South Albany, currently ranked #25. Assuming Ashland wins that one, they will then have a home game against #10 Marist on November 1. If the rankings change, they could end up playing #9 Crescent Valley or #11 Pendleton.
