Ashland in the fog

I took today’s photo more for the hundreds of birds that were streaking across the sky than for the fog, but the photo didn’t look like it featured birds. Instead, it looked like I had small specs of dirt all over my lens so I photoshopped the specs out and left only the bird on the top of the tree in the bottom portion of the photo, two trees left of center.

View from Grizzly Peak during minimal snow winter

I have yet to break out my snow shoes this winter. Last weekend we hiked to the top of Grizzly Peak where I took this photo from. Last year at this time this was the scene miles below the location of today’s photo.

This year we were able to drive all the way to the parking lot which is pretty much unheard of in January or February. From there the trail usually has several feet of snow on it in winter as it is in the shade and doesn’t melt until May or so. Not this year.

These dudes are so fantastic and fun live. They should be opening for Ghost B.C. in larger venues so the masses can enjoy their goodness. Hopefully they return to Ashland to play again soon.
