SOU’s Men’s Basketball Team has moved up a notch before their last two road games of the year. Currently sitting in 2nd place in the conference, a sweep this weekend will result in two home games for the conference playoffs.

Ashland received a large amount of rain this past week, but with temperatures in the 50s, not even Grizzly Peak has snow on it.

This was Eric’s fifth time winning the award. His 38 points on Friday were enough to do it as he had a below average (for him) showing on Saturday. The team did win both games though.

Senior Night

SOU Men’s Basketball Senior Night with Coach Brian McDermott and David Sturner’s family

Last night was the last regular season home basketball games at SOU. Since both teams won there is a good chance that there will be at least one home game in the Cascade Conference Playoffs. They still have three games to go on the road before we know for sure.

Due to it being the possible final performances in front of the home crowd, it was also senior night. Two women and five men were honored. The men were given poster boards with a bunch of my photos on them. David Sturner was checking out the pics you can see below in the above photo.

And Coach Kennedy sported a pink tie.

The results were good. Both SOU teams won, and both moved into second place in the 10-team Cascade Conference.

Tonight is Senior Night so arrive by 7 p.m. (after the women’s game) to see the honoring of the seniors on both teams. Better yet, arrive at 5:30 to watch the women’s game as they face a difficult Evergreen team which beat OIT last night.

Although both teams are currently in position to host at least one home game in the Cascade Conference Playoffs, they are also just a loss or two away from 5th place which would mean tonight will be their last home game(s). So come cheer them on to victory and hopefully some more home games.

We have some friends who live near the top of Park Street. I have always wanted a shot of the view but have never had my camera with me (until last night). This was an hour or so after the blue hour, but with a 30-second exposure a bit of time travel was possible.
