I’m not sure exactly why, but fairly consistently for the past few months my prior blog entry featuring Georgia has been receiving more hits than any other page on the blog. So here is another photo of her playing volleyball. She also plays basketball for Ashland High School.
This past Sunday saw another tournament championship for the Siskiyou Volleyball Club 16U (Alan) Team. That’s the third or fourth championship for the team for the short club season. Alan’s team went 12-1 in individual games on the day in the 23-team tournament, and they had to make it past an 18U team in the final match to secure the victory.
Thanks to last weekend’s nightmare road trip for the Southern Oregon Men’s Basketball Team, they have dropped out of the rankings for the first time this year. A win this Wednesday night (against Northwest Christian on 2/27/14) won’t be enough, but it will be a start. They will also need to win a couple of road playoff games after winning on Wednesday to make it to the NAIA Championship Tournament.
Ashland High School graduate Allison Gida helped lead the Southern Oregon University Raiders to two road victories over Warner Pacific and Concordia this past weekend. She averaged 21 points. She also tied the SOU record with 9 steals and had a career high 15 rebounds.
Sometimes I get really behind in processing photos. There are more than a few dozen bands who I have taken photos of that I have never processed or posted (or even looked at). Such was the case with The Delineators until one of these photos came up as my random, desktop image of the day.
On this evening (almost a year ago) they played with Glimpse Trio and 100 Watt Mind. One of these days I’ll get to those photos as well.
The Raiders are currently tied for fourth place with two games to go. They are just one game out of second place and just one game out of sixth place! The top four team will host the first round of the Cascade Conference Playoffs which begin next week. Tonight they face Warner Pacific at 5:30 in Portland. The playoff picture will clear up after tomorrow night’s games.
