We are currently fostering a couple of dogs for the Jackson County Animal Shelter. We will have them until a new owner comes forward or two weeks, whichever comes first.
Special offer on these–buy one, get one free. The first one is also free. You do the math. Leave a comment if in Southern Oregon and interested.

SOU football – Dylan Young (Raider record holder for most TD catches)
@SOURaiders @SOU_Football @DY_Lee11 @Play_NAIA
Once again, Hensley Ratings showed that they know more about which teams are better than the coaches. The NAIA Championship Game in Florida next week (12/19/14) looks, on paper (based on the NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll), like a surprising #8 seed (SOU) vs. a surprising #7 seed (Marian). However, when the final computer rankings came out a few weeks ago, the Raiders were #2 and Marian was #3. As I mentioned before, the Carroll vs. SOU quarterfinal game pitted the top two teams against each other and SOU came out on top.
So don’t be surprised that Southern Oregon University and Marian University Indianapolis made it to the finals. Be surprised that they weren’t awarded home games for the quarter and semifinals.

Some of you may have found your way here through the link on souraiders.com. I have had several people email me asking questions about buying prints or about finding all of my photos for a certain sport.
The photos I post here are a small fraction of the photos I actually have. If you would like to print any of the photos on this blog, you are welcome to do so at no charge. Be sure to click on the photo to get to the higher resolution size which will print with more quality. If you want to use them on the web (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.), you are welcome to do so if you link back to traveljapanblog.com/ashland with the photo or link to the photo.
If you would like me to search through all of my photos and send you photos of the particular athlete you are looking for I charge a reasonable fee for the time it takes me to find all of those photos and to process them for you. I do not normally sell prints. I email you the high quality electronic files in .jpg format, and you can do the printing and framing yourself through a local or online service. You can also make photo books or do whatever you like with the pictures. My email is on this page.

Former SOU women’s basketball player Allison Gida gets a hug and flowers from softball players during tribute to her father Stan

I’m on a plane for Chicago today. Tomorrow is a big game for the SOU football program.
Today’s photos are from the previously mentioned halftime memorial for Stan Gida a few weeks ago.
SOU’s basketball teams are on a bus headed north on I-5. They have some big road games to open their CCC season tonight (Concordia) and tomorrow (Warner Pacific).

SOU volleyball – 2013 team
@SOURaiders @RaiderVB @paulla_op
My random, desktop image of the day happened to be this one. A bit coincidental, since the Raiders are currently playing in the national tournament. However, this photo isn’t exactly of this year’s team.
A win today against Vanguard University (11 a.m. PST) and the Raiders will make the final, single-elimination portion of the NAIA tournament reserved for the top 12 teams.

SOU volleyball – Emma Gasman
@SOURaiders @RaiderVB @tadeatanda @emmagassy
The Southern Oregon University volleyball team took down #8 Columbia in pool play today at the national tournament. A win tomorrow against #4-ranked Texas Brownsville or on Thursday against #21 Vanguard should move them on to the next round, a single-elimination affair with the other best 11 teams in the country.
Emma Gasman and Tade Atanda were the key players in today’s victory, a 3-1 result. More details can be found here.
