Today’s photo is a reverse angle from this prior post. Oh yeah, and the season is a bit different too.

golfing off Ashland deck
… Ashland was a warm, green, and sunny place where you could pass the time hitting golf balls off a friend’s deck. Currently we are mired in more than a week of continuous freezing temperatures.

SOU’s three-win week last week moved them up a notch in the rankings to #2 in the nation. Two other CCC teams (Northwest and College of Idaho) are now in the Top 26. SOU plays College of Idaho (Caldwell) on the road on 12/21/13.

SOU in the snow
… or at least final exams are supposed to begin this morning at 10:30 a.m. Because half a foot of snow was dumped on campus on Friday evening, and temperatures have been between 3 and 25 degrees since, I’m not sure if everyone can make it to campus. Southern Oregon University has postponed today’s 8:00 a.m. finals, but the rest are still on.

SOU Men’s Basketball
Jeff Bush
The Southern Oregon University Basketball Teams went 4-0 this weekend in Ashland. As mentioned previously, the challenges will come to the women in a little over a month. But what about the men?
Concordia was ranked in the Top 15, but the Raiders (ranked #3) beat them fairly easily. Warner Pacific was the pre-season pick to come in second (behind the Raiders) in the Cascade Conference, and that victory for SOU was even easier. Could the Raiders actually be 28-1 by the time they play Concordia on the road in late February? Perhaps it is way too early to make such a prediction, but a 28-1 record by 2/22/14 seems very possible at this point if Concordia and Warner Pacific are really the best two teams besides the Raiders in the CCC.
